I am using a program that
uses a hardware lock. It seems that it does not work well with zip drives,
etc. I have blown 3 of them already and it seems that they come at the most
inopportune moments.

bright pink dongle on my laptop saying "steal me -- break me".

I have a program that
came with one of those idiotic parallel port dongles. I would like to
purchase a video capture device that I believe also attaches to the
parallel printer port. With my initial program's dongle, an electronic
documentation program dongle, the video capture device's dongle and a
printer; I will need a support shelf to hold it all, not to mention the
foot or more distance the PC will have to be away from the wall.

Please provide me with
info on a dongle remover. I've had 2 dongle failures and my present one
doesn't support a bi-directional parallel port.

I bought a program
running under Windows 3.1 and it works only with a hardware key. I have had
enough problems in the past with stolen or broken keys, that this time I
would like a back-up solution.

I am a registered user of
a program. As you are probably aware, a hardware dongle on the printer port
(LPT1) is used for copy protection purposes. There are known problems with
this form of copy protection particularly when attempting to use printers
piggy backed to them in bi-directional mode. Even though I have attempted
in the past to piggy back a standard epson style printer without much luck,
I am keen to install a laser bi-directional printer and I am not in a
position to buy another port (ie: no more slots in the PC).

In my business, I use an
administrative program which is secured by a dongle. I experience a lot
problems originating from the communication between the program and the
dongle. Since I can't get any help from the shop from which I bought the
program, could you please inform me if you offer a solution to this
program?

I am a registered owner
of a Graphics package and I am frustrated with the inconvenience of the
necessary hardware lock to operate my software. I am a real estate
developer with offices in the States and overseas. I don't enjoy the
necessity to carry the 'dongle' with me when I travel. Should I forget to
pack it, it provides for more aggravation.

I have had many problems
in getting my program to recognize the Security Block--sometimes it works
fine and other times it does not. The software company finally sent me a
new Block, after much negotiation and discussion.
It works intermittently. Their tech-support finally determined that the
power on Parallel
Port might not be
enough to support the Block. They had me plug in a Printer to the back of
the Block and print something. After this, the block worked, but it has
been intermittent.
I removed the Block a few days ago to plug in a Zip Drive and none of the software
could find the Block after this. I worked for two days on it and--through a
stroke of luck - I was able to get it working again--but who knows for how
long.

While employed as a
scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, working on a high
energy sub-atomic particle detector, I was given a legal new version of
Meta Software's PSPICE, with dongle, for use to perform the duties required
of me. Each person in our group had an HP computer running HPUX and
Andataco's 386 PC Windows emulator to run the software needed to complete
our few required administrative duties and publishing. PSPICE was installed
to run with the Windows emulator, but failed to run due to the dongle's
incompatiblity with the emulated parallel port, even though the port worked
with the PC printer. Meta Software refused to help.
After spending a dozen spare-time hours manually configuring the port in
every possible way, the dongle was made to operate, but only very slowly.
Unfortunately, there was an approximate 60 second delay every time I
clicked run, making the software so slow as to be unuseable. We could not
possibly buy a PC until the next fiscal year. After weeks of searching, I
was allowed to use a slow 386SX, after hours, in a basement laboratory. I
suffered physically, professionally, personally, and much financial harm
was done that year, because the software that had cost more than 10,000.00
dollars went under-used but desperately needed in our under-funded nascent
research group. I knew nothing of SafeKey then, unfortunately.

I strongly recommend the
use of the SafeKey product to protect your investment in software and
perhaps even to ensure the continued operation of your business dependent
on specialized software. A good step to take before something goes wrong.

My trading of commodities
and bonds has extended for over 15 years. For three Thousand dollars I
purchased 4.0 Tradestation in the 90's and did all my research using that
platform with emphasis on predictive correlation. Tradestation, when my
block literally broke, refused to send me another block essentially destroying
the usefullness of 10 years of research. SafeKey provided a means of
working again. What they have done goes beyond money. It was a decade of my
life that was dissapearing and Tradestation didn't give a damn. May God
bless SafeKey and may others find hope through SafeKey's solutions.

I had a security dongle
with an intermittent problem, requiring me to place and remove several
times before it would work. I worried that it would fail when I really
needed it. SafeKey did a perfect job and emulated it in short order, even
though they had not worked much with that particular security dongle. I’d
use SafeKey again in a minute. Excellent service!
